Hidropark in Alcudia is the only waterpark in the north of Majorca. Fantastic fun for all the family, this aqua park provides so much more than just water slides. If you’re looking for an alternative day out to the beach or pool, Hidropark will keep the kids entertained for hours!
Situated in the Port de Alcudia, Hidropark is well located for anyone staying in the Alcudia region. This includes all resorts in Alcudia, Ca’n Picafort and Puerto Pollenca. Close to the town center, it can be easily reached on foot from many of the local hotels. Alternatively, when you purchase your tickets from your hotel or travel shop, ask whether free bus transfers are available from your hotel or resort.
Club Mac Hotel is just a stone’s throw from the water park and even offers free entry for guests! This is a real treat for those staying at Club Mac and is well worth a visit.
Hidropark Water Slides
Of course, the main draw of visiting any aquapark is the water slides, and Hidropark does not disappoint. At 40,000 meters squared this huge park provides hours of fun. Great for all ages, Hidropark offers a huge variety of slides from simple slip-and-slide soft tracks to looming descents for thrill-seekers. Although the park can get fairly busy in summer, the queues tend to move quite quickly. Remember to wear plenty of waterproof sun cream though as you may be standing out in the heat of the day for long periods of time.
For small children, there are the colorful octopus slides at Children’s World. These slides will have your little ones giggling in delight. They are sure to want to go round and round for hours on these fun little slides.
Line and Line and Slide Race are great for all the family. Line and Line comprises two parallel slides that wind their way down to the splash pool. Gently enjoy the ride or try to push yourself down quickly for a speedy sprint to the bottom. The multi-colored Slide Race allows you to line up with friends and family to compete for victory as the quickest slider of the day. Fly down these bright slides, dipping your way to the bottom until you make a splash in the pool at the bottom.
For older children, the taller the slide the better! Try Spiral for a twisting and turning closed slide which will get your heart racing. Kamikaze too is not for the faint-hearted as you shoot down the slide side-by-side. Race your family and friends to the bottom of Kamikaze to see who will splash out of the bottom first. Who will win? The yellow slide or blue slide?
Apart from the water slides themselves, Hidropark offers loads of other attractions to keep you entertained. There are a number of pools dotted around the park including the firm favorite: Wave Pool. Every hour hundreds flock to the Wave Pool to frolic in the surging tides and jump over the waves. This is only suitable for those who consider themselves strong swimmers. Younger children should stick to the edge of the pool during the waves.
For the little ones, spend your time at Mini Park which offers small slides, mini waterfalls, climbing frames and more. With a shallow pool, this is great for letting your younger children play in the sun while knowing they are safe. There are plenty of lifeguards around the park too so you’ll know everyone is in safe hands throughout the day!
As an alternative to slides, there are floating balls too. These clear balls let you crawl, run and slide over the water’s edge like playing dodgems on water. Similar to Zorbing, the floating balls are see-through so parents will be able to watch their children running over the water having a blast!
Hidropark has inflatables, bouncy castles, and bungee trampolines too which all provide endless fun when not on the slides.
When you’re done with water slides and pools why not enjoy a spot of mini-golf. With three on-site 18 hole courses, you can head straight over when you’ve dried off. The courses are full of fun holes which will delight all the family. Even little ones will be able to enjoy the putting holes with their mini clubs.
What Else Can You Do?
Paintballing is also available within the Hidropark, so older children and teens can race around spraying each other with color after their day on the slides. Please note that being shot with the paintballs can be somewhat painful. You should take this into account when booking to play.
There are a number of restaurants and cafes on-site at the Hidropark. For snacks and drinks head to Cafe Neptuno or for self-serve main meals Barbeque is your best bet. There is a Wimpy too which serves ice-cold refreshments and ice creams. These are perfect for cooling off during hot summer days.
As with many attractions in Alcudia, Hidropark is seasonal. Therefore it is only open from the beginning of May and the end of October. This allows you to enjoy the water slides and outdoor activities during the warmest months of the year. Of course, these are the busiest months for tourists too but the months outside of the main school holidays are likely to be quieter.
It is best to head to Hidropark first thing to avoid queues and to let your children go on the slides and play in the pool before the peak of the heat and sun between 12-2 pm.
Set up a base around the sunbeds and a parasol so you can enjoy lunch and drinks in the shade
